Lacey Brown sings ‘Ruby Tuesday’ on Stones night…
It was Rolling Stones night on Idol tonight and Lacey sang ‘Ruby Tuesday’ on a dimly lit stage. The judges had this to say about her performance:
Randy–found it very interesting, wasn’t jumping up and down about it vocally but was pleasantly suprised
Ellen– found it weird how she did the performance, sitting down during the building parts and standing during the slow parts, it was a bit sleepy for her but she’s still a fan of Lacey’s
Kara– agreed with Ellen and Randy it was 50/50 for her, She feels Lacey can do better and can put more into it.
Simon– feels there’s a ’slight’ issue with her, she performs like an actress, everything is very precise and thought through, nothing wrong with the vocals but seems to be over thinking it and is in danger of doing the same thing week after week.

Lacey sings “The Story” By Brandi Carlile
Lacey chose The Story By Brandi Carliel in hopes of making it to the top 12 this week. After performing sitting on the edge of the stay in a very intimate performance the judges had these comments:
Randy felt the song itself was a little boring BUT it was her best performance he’s seen in a long time.
Ellen agreed with Randy that it was her best performance to date and loves her voice.
Kara said performances like this are why she got here! This is the kind of record she needs to be doing and she’ s back on her path.
Simon didn’t love the song but she sang it really well and that says something about the artist. He felt she had great stage presence and she looks like she’s been doing this for a long time. However, he still is looking for the “right” song from her and this wasn’t quite it.

Lacey sings Kiss Me by Sixpence None The Richer
The judges liked the song chioce but weren’t sold on the performance.
Randy said he loved the song chioce but she didn’t make it special or bring anything to it.
Ellen agreed that she didn’t change it up but she found it adorable and enjoyed it!
Kara said that last week we were losing what was speical about her with her unique tone and this week she brought that back. However, she feels that Lacey has to step it up.
Simon felt it was marginally better then last week but he feels that right now she is ‘taking part in a competition’ instead of showing us who she is as an artist.

Lacey sings “Love Changes” by Stevie Nix
Lacey sang “Love Changes” by Stevie Nix tonight and even though she was beautiful and unique the judges didn’t seem to like it. They didn’t like the song choice or sound but have hope for her. We need to vote for her to keep her in!!!
